TBCx recognizes the integrated nature of all building systems’ performances, which can impact energy usage, sustainability, workforce productivity, occupant comfort, safety and security. This is an umbrella process for all planning, delivery, verification, quality-assurance and managing risks for critical functions performed in or on homes, buildings and facilities.

Commissioning is defined as:

“A quality-focused process for enhancing the delivery of a building project. The process focuses upon verifying and documenting how all of the commissioned systems and assemblies are planned, designed, installed, tested and then verified to meet all the intended Project Requirements and outcomes”

This can help eliminate Warranty claims for residential builders and multi-residential developers.

Using this integrated process results in a fully-functional, finely-tuned home/building/facility. This concept expands from the typical Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) commissioning process by including the non-energy related systems (i.e. electrical and technology systems) into the whole building commissioning process.  The process often uncovers deficiencies in design and/or installation by focused reviews and independent field verification.
